Dollar Tree has announced a voluntary recall of 270,000 children?s brand superhero projector flashlights as they pose a burn risk & fire hazard.
According to the recall, first reported by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) the bulb or batteries of the Spiderman, Iron Man 2 or Wolverine flashlights can become too hot to the point of catching fire and/or searing little hands.
This comes after three reported incidents where batteries within the flashlights overheated and either melted the item or caught fire. Luckily, no one was hurt.
The flashlights as mentioned before have the illustrations & names of Spiderman, Wolverine & Iron Man and measure in at around 6.5 inches long. The packaging also includes five mini discs within that are used to shine various pictures through the flashlight.
The UPC for the item in question is: UPC 6 39277 16879 5. Another number that is printed on the packaging is: 16879-20012-003-1003.
This item is produced in China and was sold at all Dollar brand stores (Tree, Dollar Bill$, Dollar Tree $1 Stop, Deal$ and Dollar Tree Deal$) nationwide in the time period of August 1st ? the present for the base price of a dollar.
