If case you haven’t heard yet, actress, Maggie Gyllenhaal (older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal) and hubby Peter Sarsgaard are expecting their second child together. Maggie says she is dealing with pretty severe morning sickness, to the point of needing to have pretzels in her purse at all times. She and Peter also recently announced that they are having another precious baby girl. This will be the second daughter for the happy couple who already have a five year old named Ramona.
Maggie’s most recent films include, “Sherrybaby,” “World Trade Center,” “The Dark Knight” and was nominated for “Best Supporting Actress” for her work in “Crazy Heart.” Co-star, Jeff Bridges won “Best Actor” for his work in the film.
Maggie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in 1999 before studying acting. It should come as no surprise to find out that Maggie’s father was a director and her mother was a successful screenwriter.
You might remember Peter in the films, “Flightplan,” “Orphan” and the “Green Lantern.” His first feature role was in the movie “”Dead Man Walking” in 1995.
Peter and Maggie met through her younger brother, Jake, as Peter was one of his closest friends. The couple have been together since 2002 and were wed in 2006 after giving birth to their first born.
Congratulations to Peter, Maggie and Ramona who are expecting their new arrival in April. The family currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
